Warehouse Material Handler – Intermountain Health
Location:
Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah
Hours:
40 per week, Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM (or until work is complete).
Base pay range: $18.00 / hr – $24.00 / hr (actual rate based on skills and experience).
Job OverviewThe Warehouse Material Handler participates in all Supply Chain Center (SCC) Fulfillment Center activities, including stocking, picking, packing, and shipping medical products. The role also maintains warehouse cleanliness, equipment, and engages in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma and green projects.
Responsibilities- Stocking:
Maintain inventory integrity and safely store products in assigned locations while following written procedures and safety requirements. - Picking Orders:
Follow outlined procedures to pick orders within SCC operations, complying with all written and verbal directions. - Shipping:
Pack, label, and load orders for transportation, following written and verbal direction. - Communication & Teamwork:
Effectively communicate with team members to achieve SCC fulfillment goals, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and support continuous improvement projects. - Safety:
Use safe handling practices, respect safety equipment, and comply with all Intermountain safety requirements, including MSDS, Hazmat, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Six months of experience in a customer service or logistics position.
- Demonstrated effective communication, problem‑solving, and basic math skills.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Experience using internet and email applications.
- Ability to practice safe work behaviors.
- Experience with work processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, email, and scheduling applications.
- Interest in personal learning, growth, and development.
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Experience using Intermountain Healthcare’s Fulfillment Center Management System (WNS).
- Work experience in a Lean Six Sigma environment.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, and scheduling applications.
