Total Marine Technology (TMT) is a leading Australian subsea solutions provider delivering specialist offshore engineering, ROV, tooling and intervention services to the oil & gas and marine sectors.
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our workshop team. This role is ideal for a trade-qualified professional who takes pride in precision machining, quality workmanship and maintaining high safety standards in a fast-paced engineering environment.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for machining high-precision components to exact specifications, supporting complex offshore tooling projects and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Machining complex components to a high standard
- Interpreting and working from technical drawings
- Operating manual lathes, mills and other workshop machinery
- Using and calibrating precision measuring equipment
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment as required
- Assisting apprentices and supporting team development
- Managing workflow during busy periods to meet deadlines
- Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
- Complying with HSEQ policies and procedures
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Machinist) or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Offshore oil & gas experience (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Confident operating lathes, mills, grinders, presses and hand/power tools
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Committed to safety and continuous improvement
- Able to perform effectively under pressure
