Summary
The SBA Loan Administrator will coordinate and guide SBA 7(a) and 504 loan closings for various lending teams, in addition to performing necessary due diligence to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements. This role will also prepare loan documents for SBA loan closings. The ideal candidate will be highly detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, meet competing deadlines and provide excellent client service.
Responsibilities- Process SBA 7(a) and SBA 504 loan files.
- Determine and communicate to prospective borrowers and referral sources the required documentation needed for to begin underwriting a loan package.
- Act as the key point of contact for the client, Banker, Portfolio Manager, and other key individuals involved in the loan process, communicating with the team regularly with status updates.
- Maintain a working knowledge of SBA Loan due diligence, risk management requirements, loan policy and procedure, ensuring at the team is using accurate SBA forms and procedures.
- Coordinate with Certified Development Company (CDC) to obtain 504 loan documents, submit loan packages and communicate the status of the loan.
- Collaborate with lending teams to collect and review information necessary to produce loan documentation.
- Request and review entity documentation, UCC searches, title insurance, flood certificates, etc.
- Produce Laser Pro loan documentation and/or review attorney prepared loan documentation, ensuring it is in accordance with approved credit presentation or request and review attorney prepared documentation.
- Collect and submit executed loan package to Loan Operations for boarding.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
High School Diploma or GED required. - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a loan administration department or as a commercial loan closer is strongly preferred, although a combination of related experience and education may meet requirements.
- Experience with Laser Pro software and attorney prepared loan documentation is preferred.
- Experience with the nCino Loan Origination System is preferred.
- Experience with a broad range of commercial loan products and SBA Lending is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive and collaborative approach with both peers and management.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work on consistently changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Outstanding people skills – will be frequently working in a time-sensitive environment.
- Excellent data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
- Strong ability to grasp concepts and processes.
Reports to the SBA Operations Manager
Office RequirementsThis position is required to work from a Fortis Bank office location at least 4 days per week
