EXPORTS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - SSA
MIDRAND

The main purpose of the role:
To drive sustainable, profitable growth in Export markets by acquiring new customers, activating and enabling channel partners, and creating regional demand, while growing selected strategic accounts where appropriate. The role is accountable for front-end market development in Sub-Saharan Africa. The key to success is the ability to orchestrate sales, marketing, channels, suppliers, and operations to deliver consistent execution and outstanding customer experiences across diverse regions and cultures.

The role is both internal and external, requiring regular travel into the allocated African countries.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 and relevant commercial and/or technical qualification
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing or Engineering is advantageous
  • 3+ years successful export sales experience ideally gained within B2B export sales, business development or marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers and open markets
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with confidence in forecasting and ROI analysis
  • Data analytics and data-driven with disciplined CRM usage
  • Comfortable working across countries and cultures
  • Understanding of distribution channels, partner engagement, enablement and training
  • Experience planning and executing demand generation initiatives such as trade shows, customer events, supplier roadshows, technical workshops, seminars and webinars
  • Consultative value-led selling experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High levels of self-motivation and autonomy with a passion for growing the business
  • Technical aptitude and/ or experience with an affinity for technology.
  • Hold a current SA Driver’s License
  • SAP and Salesforce CRM (advantageous)
