Job Title: Technical Trainer

Our client is a global leader in reliable networking devices and accessories, and an international distributor is currently looking for a Technical Trainer for their Midrand office.
The Technical Trainer is responsible for responsible for giving technical expertise, solution design, and sales support for company networking and CCTV products, including Omada SDN, VIGI CCTV, and Aginet FTTH solutions.
This role will assist with the technical gap between the sales team and customers.
Technical presales will need to make sure the correct specifications are provided to solutions and will provide insight into the product features and functions, as well as host training sessions with Key Personnel.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, ACLs, PoE, Wi-Fi standards, IP addressing, routing, switching).
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, video codecs, and storage requirements.
- Experience with wireless networks, cloud platforms, and remote management tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Vendor certifications (e.g., TP-Link, Cisco CCNA, Ubiquiti, Hikvision Certified).
- Experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, or system integration.
- Knowledge of GPON / FTTH technologies.
- National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related technical field.
Pre-Sales Technical Support
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and provide technical solutions.
- Give product presentations and demonstrations.
- Assist in preparing technical proposals, network diagrams, and BOMs.
- Support proof-of-concept projects and pilot installations.
- Design end-to-end networking and surveillance solutions using company products.
- Recommend optimal configurations, firmware, and feature sets to meet client needs.
- Provide input for large-scale tenders, RFQs, and project bids.
- Deliver product and technical training to partners, resellers, and internal staff.
- Assist in creating and updating technical documentation, datasheets, and user guides.
- Attend client meetings with account managers to provide technical consultation.
- Assist with site surveys, solution sizing, and integration planning.
- Handle pre-sales technical queries via email, phone, and live demos.
- Stay up to date with TP-Link product updates, competitor offerings, and industry trends.
- Provide feedback to the product management team on market needs and product gaps.
