Duties- Manage the full accounting and month‑end function for the life insurance entity.
- Maintain accurate financial records for policy premiums, claims and related transactions under IFRS 17.
- Prepare, review and present IFRS 17‑compliant financial statements and disclosures.
- Analyse data to highlight key financial trends and business insights.
- Reconcile financial data and support external and internal audits.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Educate stakeholders on IFRS 17 requirements and reporting changes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and systems.
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom (Accounting)
- BCom Honours or CTA
- CA(SA)
- Completed SAICA Articles
- 35 years post‑articles experience
- Proven insurance industry background with hands‑on IFRS 17 exposure
- Strong track record in month‑end close and preparation of financial statements
- Advantageous:
Experience in company tax calculations within the insurance sector
- Expert knowledge of IFRS 17 and its application
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial systems for IFRS 17 reporting
- Excellent communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders
- Collaborative, adaptable and able to work across diverse teams
