SCOPEThis individual is responsible for sourcing and negotiating a portfolio of goods and services, to meet the requirements of the Hub business stakeholders, buying equipment, services, spare parts, etc while optimizing cost and processes. The individual will also undertake proactive spend analysis and research to identify potential future tactical buying and strategic sourcing opportunities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Performing buying activities (RFP, Analysis, etc.)
- Actively communicating with the business stakeholders to ensure that their purchase requirements are met
- Utilizing Ariba eSourcing application to execute bidding events (RFP, RFI, RFQ, or reverse auction)
- Maintaining an awareness of changing market conditions
- Performing periodic spend analysis to identify opportunities for local and Division projects
- Managing spend assigned spend categories and supporting global projects
- Conducting periodic key stakeholder meetings with business partners to review local spend category strategy and activities
- Leverage supply base opportunities across managed portfolio
- Managing, resolving and communicating on local quality and service issues.
- Prioritizing requests and activities so as to deliver in a timely manner
- Perform all necessary procurement operations activities - order processing, vendor creation and technical issue resolution
- Special projects (as appropriate)
- Achieve Business Simplification
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Sourcing, Business, Finance, or comparable discipline is required.
- An advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification is desirable.
- This individual should have a proven track record of performance with either three or more years of work experience, preferably in Procurement.
- The right candidate has:
- Basic understanding of procurement, spend category management and project management methodologies, e-procurement processes and negotiation.
- High degree of problem solving skills and the ability to drive change with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. SAP experience is desired.
