FROZEN FOOD/CLERK – Kroger

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions, making suggestions about products.
• Inform customers of frozen food specials and recommend items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents; report safety risks or illegal activity (e.g., robbery, theft or fraud).
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflict in a constructive manner.
• Provide honest and integral customer and business information; follow directions and seek assistance as needed.
• Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
