About The Insurance Agent Trainee Program The Insurance Agent Trainee Program at Farmers Insurance is a comprehensive, hands-on career development initiative designed for motivated individuals who want to build a long-term career in the insurance industry. The program provides participants with training, mentorship, and real-world experience in both sales and customer service, while learning from experienced professionals in the field.

Through the fully paid training program, you’ll work alongside a team of experts to develop critical business and industry skills, including client management, policy analysis, sales strategy, and operations. As a trainee, you’ll be empowered to take ownership of your professional growth, while receiving support from Farmers Insurance’s leadership team every step of the way.

Responsibilities
  • Sales & Client Engagement:
    Support the sales process by helping new and existing clients understand their insurance needs and offering appropriate coverage solutions. Build relationships and maintain customer loyalty through excellent service.
  • Learning & Development:
    Participate in ongoing training and development to become knowledgeable about Farmers’ insurance products, systems, and processes. Learn the ins and outs of the industry with the guidance of a mentor.
  • Mentorship &

    Collaboration:

    Work directly with experienced insurance professionals who will provide guidance, advice, and feedback as you progress through the program. Build a network of industry contacts and internal connections.
  • Policy & Product Knowledge:
    Gain expertise in various insurance products including auto, home, life, and business insurance. Learn to navigate industry tools and software to provide effective and efficient solutions to customers.
  • Problem-Solving & Customer Service:
    Assist with resolving customer inquiries, claims, or service issues promptly and professionally. Use critical thinking to address challenges and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Career Development:
    Complete performance milestones and goals with a focus on advancing into a full-time career in insurance after the program's completion. Explore potential career paths within the company, including opportunities in sales, operations, claims, or management.
Requirements
  • Licensure:
    An active Property & Casualty and Life, Health & Annuities license or willingness to get with our support within a communicated timeline.
  • Experience:

    No prior insurance experience required. However, customer service, sales, or any relevant professional experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Motivated, self-driven, and goal-oriented
    • Ability to handle customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
