Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Land Planner to join our team in our Richmond, VA office. The position will work in a collaborative and integrated team of professionals that include landscape architects, civil engineers, planners, surveyors, environmental scientists, and transportation engineers. The primary responsibilities for the Graduate Land Planner include plan production and technical document creation across the South region for deliverables related to land planning.

- Work with the senior certified planner to build increasing skills to review and interpret regulatory codes, ordinances, and comprehensive plans.
- Review and analyze land features relating to opportunities, constraints, and layout options for development.
- Work with the senior certified planner to build increasing skills to prepare due diligence analysis, land development concepts, master development plans, and graphic illustrations using both digital and hand drawn formats.
- Work with senior certified planners to develop and refine design solutions.
- Use in depth knowledge of land planning theory and concepts in preparing land development concepts and master development plans.
- Increasing responsibility to participate in project meetings with staff, clients Jinping, & regulatory agencies.
- Assist in editing technical plans, details, and specifications.
- Visit construction sites to gather information, review design intent, inform and support senior project team members during the construction phase.
- Use in depth knowledge of entitlement procedures and required regulatory approvals.
- Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practice are consistently followed within the Planning service.
- Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
- Project geographic focus to be mainly in the South region through local office markets but supported by national Planning service team and expertise.
