Location:

Midlothian, Virginia (Richmond area anesthesiology jobs)

Start Date:

January 11, 2026

End Date:  December 31, 2026

Shift:  12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 6:30 PM)

Hours per Week:  Approximately 36

Schedule:

Weekend day call coverage (Saturday and Sunday), with potential for additional days

Practice Setting:  14 anesthesia rooms, Epic EMR charting system

Supervision Model:  MDs supervise CRNAs (4:1 ratio) and perform their own cases

Case Types:  General anesthesia, orthopedic anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia

Qualifications – Anesthesiologist Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine

Completion of an approved anesthesiology residency

Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (required)

Active physician license (Virginia medical license preferred; open to candidates seeking VA licensure)

ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an anesthesiologist

Responsibilities – Anesthesiology Locum Tenens Role

Direct and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department

Provide medical management for patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery and procedures

Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain patient consent

Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients

Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

Monitor patients’ physiological status throughout procedures

Perform clinical interventions as needed

Supervise CRNAs and manage hands-on anesthesia cases
