POSITION SUMMARY:

A Quality Testing Technician is an individual responsible for testing the quality of inbound and outbound materials and communicate findings relative to material specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in utilizing the SMI Quality system at SMI facility.

* Lead in ensuring that products and services meet or exceed customer specifications.

* Perform plant quality checks per SMI's Quality Procedures.

* Track quality performance, identify problem areas, takes action to contain any deficient material from leaving the facility and undertakes other actions to improve.

* Assist with plant quality meetings and training of plant employees.

* Update and maintain Quality records on a computer. Analyze data and produce reports, as requested.

* Observe Production Line Workers' actions to ensure sampling and testing are done correctly.

* Perform and document in-process cullet sampling in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP).

* Conduct and document incoming and outgoing load inspections.

* Work with the maintenance personnel to ensure equipment operates efficiently to optimize product quality.

* Wear appropriate site-specific personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.

* Understand and adhere to all company operating procedures and company safety policies.

* Cross-trained in other plant positions, as needed.

* Any other related duties, as assigned by their supervisor.
