As a Team Leader
, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
- Lead the front-line management to develop tax office associates, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives.
- Provide leadership and development of tax office staff; act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.
- Partner with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including local partnerships and community involvement.
- Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure clients are scheduled properly with conflicts resolved.
- Oversee daily activities to complete work on time with attention to quality, priorities, and goals.
- Train and coach associates to uphold Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions; lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information.
- Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping, and manage overtime; prepare tax returns as required.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
- Prior experience in customer service, shift leadership, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
- 2+ years as a Tax Professional (preferred) and successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course if preparing tax returns.
- Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible work schedule and adaptability to business needs; high school diploma or equivalent or higher.
