Job Description:
Sr. Process Engineer positions offered by Ash Grove Cement Company. (Midlothian, TX). Analyze the cement production process and implement changes for optimal operating conditions for fuel efficiency, electrical efficiency and production rate. Participate in the training of the control room operators on the proper ways of using plant equipment. Work closely with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency.
Perform programming of the plant's programmable control systems and provide maintenance, documentation and improvements for computerized process systems. Perform performance testing and measurements on production equipment. Maintain performance records including wear part life history. Provide technical support to the Production Department to achieve objectives of maximizing plant production of quality-controlled cement efficiently and cost-effectively. Optimize process by testing, data gathering, sampling and in-house expertise to provide progressive solutions and enable continual improvement in the production process.
Mentor Process Engineers and provide growth and development opportunities for them. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or safety. Provide support and assistance to the members of the Process, Energy, and Alternative fuels (AF)/ Alternative Raw Materials (ARM) Task Forces. Assume project management or other role as required for specific plant improvement projects. Provide written and oral presentations to all levels of the organization.
Partner with Project Management teams to ensure timely and on-budget execution of process improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
* Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience working in the chemical or mechanical engineering field.
* Must have 5 years of experience in the following:
* Working with Pyro processing, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, chemistry, physics and mathematics;
* Using Cement Kiln, Finish Mill Auditing, and optimization;
* Using Mechanical and electrical technology and equipment;
* Using PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines;
* Performing statistical correlation between quality and process;
* Working with alternative fuels and alternative raw materials; and
* Working with carbon dioxide footprint reduction alternatives.
* Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
