Spend your summer capturing moments that matter while using your creative skills to make a meaningful impact! The Media Specialist at Camp Hoblitzelle plays a key role in telling the story of camp life through photography, video, and digital media. Working closely with the camp team, you’ll document programs, special events, and everyday moments that reflect the joy, faith, and community experienced by campers and staff.
This role is more than just creating content—it’s about using media as a tool for connection and ministry. You’ll be part of a Christ‑centered community, grow your technical and storytelling skills, and help preserve memories that last well beyond the summer. If you’re creative, detail‑oriented, and passionate about using media to encourage and inspire others, this is a summer experience you won’t forget.
Key Responsibilities- Capture high‑quality photos and video that authentically reflect daily camp life, programs, special events, and faith‑centered moments.
- Collaborate with camp leadership and staff to document activities in alignment with camp values, branding, and storytelling goals.
- Organize, edit, and manage digital media content for internal use, marketing, and family communications.
- Support camp communication efforts by providing timely visual content as requested.
- Demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and flexibility in a fast‑paced, outdoor camp environment.
- Model Christ‑centered values in all interactions, contributing to a welcoming and respectful community.
- Follow all camp policies related to media use, consent, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and awareness of camper safety and privacy.
- Utilize appropriate behavior management and communication techniques as trained.
- Support and participate enthusiastically as a team member in overall camp programming, special events, and evening activities as part of a collaborative staff team.
- Maintain, inventory, and safely manage equipment and supplies.
- A high school graduate or GED preferred.
- A heart for others and a mind towards Christ.
- Should be self‑motivated and teachable.
- 2 years’ experience in media production, content creation, photography preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Creative, detail‑oriented, and passionate about using media to encourage and inspire others.
- A willingness to abide by The Salvation Army doctrinal statement and Camp Hoblitzelle’s policies.
- CPR & First Aid certified or capable of passing by June 15, 2026 (training provided by Camp Hoblitzelle during staff training if needed).
- Must be able to pass a state and federal background check.
Camp Staff Training will be held June 6 – June 14, 2026, and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program sessions will be held June 15 – July 26, 2026. If you are unable to work the entire season, please let us know on your application.
