Parchment Varsity Girls Golf Head Coach

SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Girls Varsity Golf team at the high school level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing the skills and abilities of student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. This seasonal position requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a commitment to the overall development of each player under the supervision of the Athletic Director.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent experience in competitive golf.
  • Strong knowledge of the game of golf, including rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
  • Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate - preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to transport students as needed.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the golf season.
  • A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
  • Background check clearance as required by school district policies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages and directs the Girls Golf Program within the guidelines set by the Athletic Department.
  • Plan and implement effective practice sessions and training programs to enhance player performance.
  • Develop game strategies and provide in-game coaching during competitions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate player progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Organize and manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, transportation, and tournament participation.
  • Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all school and district policies, as well as state athletic association rules.
  • Promote the values of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among players.
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director to support the overall athletic program.
  • Attend coaching clinics and training sessions to stay current with best practices in coaching and player development.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision.
