Job Description
The Instrument and Electrical Technician II installs, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical and instrumentation equipment used in production operations. This role ensures systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and procedures. The technician evaluates electrical and control systems to identify issues, develops repair plans, and documents work performed. A strong emphasis is placed on health, safety, and environmental compliance while supporting maintenance programs and operational reliability.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems supporting production equipment
- Evaluate electrical and instrument systems to identify failures, performance issues, and required repairs
- Document problems identified and actions taken in accordance with maintenance and reporting procedures
- Plan, update, and oversee assigned maintenance activities in compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and specifications
- Ensure all work is performed with a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental protection
- Support collaboration between operations, engineering, and project teams
- Review and provide input on control specifications, work practices, and maintenance procedures
- Maintain responsibility and accountability for electrical and control systems within assigned areas
- Apply and follow work permits using the Permit to Work System (PTWS)
- Ensure quality and timely completion of work scheduled through the Maintenance Program
- Develop personal and team technical skills related to new regulations, equipment, methods, and technologies
- Attend and provide instruction during technical meetings as needed
- Maintain open communication with coworkers regarding electrical and control system issues, safe work practices, and training needs
- Support work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and complement other work groups
- Provide technical support to other technicians for maintenance and troubleshooting
- Generate Management of Change (MOC) requests for electrical and control-related equipment and installations and follow through with inspections per OIMS requirements
- Construct, monitor, and inspect new installations, recommending upgrades or improvements as needed
- Serve as a stand-in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead position when required
- Associate’s degree preferred, ideally supplemented by relevant technical school coursework
- Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining electrical systems and instrumentation and controls in a processing plant or offshore production environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems used in oil and gas operations
- Familiarity with regulations governing oil and gas facility operations
- Understanding of Operations Integrity Management Systems (OIMS), related manuals, and procedures
- Ability to meet safety, administrative, and technical training requirements outlined in approved training roadmaps
- Demonstrated competency in Operations Integrity Critical requirements
- Basic to intermediate computing skills for documentation and reporting
- Strong safety-oriented mindset
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational and reporting abilities
- High attention to detail
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Pay: 45-50 II Pay rate 51-58 III

Schedule:
M-F 40 hours/week with potential for weekly on call rotation
