About the Role

The Field Frac Technician I installs, maintains, and repairs frac equipment such as API 6A Gate Valves, chokes, casing, and tubing heads & spools. This position requires the ability to drive a company-issued vehicle.

Starting Pay: $24.15, adjustable with experience. When 6‑to‑8 hours of field work is completed, the technician earns $45 per diem; over 8 hours, $60 per diem.

Schedule:

14 days on, 7 days off. 24/7 on‑call required. Schedule may change based on business needs.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare JSA and POWRA on job sites and perform all duties safely in accordance with SPM Oil & Gas SHE policies.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority and Management of Change.
  • Safely install, remove, repair, and service equipment on a frac site, pre‑checking all equipment and processes.
  • Make repairs to customer property and rental assets (e.g., valves, spools, chokes, actuators, surface equipment).
  • Inspect, rebuild, operate, test, and troubleshoot equipment; recommend process or equipment adjustments to maximize quality and efficiency.
  • Operate equipment and materials following OEM guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical expertise and direction to frac site supervisors and third‑party providers when needed.
  • Maintain SPM Oil and Gas company‑supplied assets and site‑specific equipment as per company policy.
  • Prepare accurate field service and sales orders in an organized, legible manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform independently or in a team setting.
  • Available for 24‑hour call to respond to customer needs.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
  • Perform required shop work; must be knowledgeable on shop functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Have
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • A clean driving record:
    • No more than two moving violations within the last 12 months.
    • No more than three moving violations in the past three years.
  • Six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Authorization to operate a company vehicle.

Relocation is not offered for this role.

Summary Pay Range

$24.15 – $32.35
