Position OverviewMUST BE LICENSED JOURNEYMAN!
The Journeyman Electrician – Industrial Division is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in industrial environments. This role focuses on industrial control panels, motor controls, conduit systems, and instrumentation wiring, supporting projects within renewable energy and building controls applications. The ideal candidate brings strong industrial electrical experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Duties & Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, motor controls, and instrumentation
Fabricate and wire UL-508A certified control panels according to design specifications and standards
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on industrial control systems and equipment
Work closely with engineers, project managers, and apprentices to ensure efficient project execution
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and safety compliance
Ensure all work complies with NEC, local electrical codes, and established standards
Participate in job-site safety meetings and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Valid Journeyman Electrician License (state-specific)
Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial electrical construction or maintenance
Strong ability to read and interpret industrial electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Hands-on experience with motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation wiring
Familiarity with UL-508A panel standards and industrial automation systems (preferred)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments
Willingness to travel to industrial job sites as needed
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders or scaffolding for extended periods
Comfortable working in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise)
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling tools, wiring, and small components
Visual and auditory capability to identify electrical hazards and communicate effectively on job sites
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and harnesses
