Position SummaryAnistar is seeking an experienced Structured Cable Technician to provide assistance with installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables as well as security/access control equipment. Must be comfortable working from a lift.
The Ideal Candidate Must Possess the FollowingTechnicians must have experience working with cables including, but not limited to: twisted pair, coax, Category 5, Category 6, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables. Cable installation includes pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling. BICSI certification (current or past) is a plus but not required. Experience with IDF/MDF, rack install, fiber termination and testing is a plus. Candidates should pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities- Operate and work off of scissor and boom lifts
- Pull and route CAT5 or CAT6 cable in new construction and existing commercial structures
- Install support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
- Work comfortably from scissor/boom lifts when required
- Pull, route, install and terminate structured cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment.
- Have 2+ years’ experience installing and servicing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
- Own basic telecom tools: punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, hard hat, boots, safety glasses, etc.
- Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
- Provide two professional references.
