Job Description
Summary:
This role is responsible for performing hands‑on maintenance and repair work across multiple commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial HVAC systems, general building maintenance, and must possess a valid driver’s license to travel between sites.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
- 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC maintenance and repair.
- EPA Universal Certification (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications a plus.
- Technical, vocational or on‑the‑job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) and good driving record with periodic checks.
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel & Word.
- May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or stand‑by on‑call duties.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, and chillers.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance across assigned properties.
- Respond to service requests and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Travel between multiple sites using a company‑provided vehicle or personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others and exchange accurate information; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery; move about the workplace; remain in a stationary position for 10% of the time; and extend hands and arms in any direction.
