About the Position

Receiver at Tractor Supply Company

The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, keeping inventory shortages below store goals, and maximizing store sales by receiving and shipping freight in a timely manner. The role requires interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, promoting a safe work environment, and adhering to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required by business needs.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through the GURA approach:
  • Greet the customer.
  • Uncover customer’s needs and wants.
  • Recommend product solutions.
  • Ask to add value & appreciate the customer.
• Perform the following duties throughout the workday (at least 95% of the time):
• Process inbound and outbound freight.
• Maintain accurate inventory control and adhere to loss prevention standards.
• Recover merchandise.
• Participate in mandatory freight processing.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Manage, recover, stock, and tag assigned work areas, including merchandise displayed outside the store.
• Operate cash register/computer following cash‑handling procedures.
• Ensure an exceptional customer shopping experience.
• Rotate and dispose of dated products.
• Assemble merchandise.
• Operate forklift and cardboard baler.
• Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks, and care for birds as required.
• Complete all documentation related to job duties.
• Obtain required licenses or certifications as needed by the business.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience with shipping/receiving preferred but not required.
• Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required; must be able to read, write, and count accurately.

• Basic computer skills/experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.

• Indoor environment with moderate noise; outdoor lots on hard surfaces.
• Shifts typically 4‑hour minimum, may exceed 8 hours.
• Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Must promote a safe and productive work environment and adhere to company safety training and guidelines.

• This is a non‑sedentary position requiring constant movement throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Must lift, push, pull, or carry loads up to 2,000 pounds with material handling equipment.
• Must frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
• Must operate forklift, baler, and other store equipment as required.
• Must read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must handle and be in contact with birds/poultry.
• Must complete required training and certifications, including propane dispensing if applicable.
• Must travel as required for district needs.
