GHR Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Midland, Texas.

• Position: PACU Registered Nurse (RN) / PACU Travel Nurse / Peri-Anesthesia Nurse
• Location: Midland, TX 79701
• Unit: 6218 Peri-Anesthesia Services (PACU & Pre-Op Holding, 21 beds, daily census ~30)
• Phase I PACU Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (09:00 – 17:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
• Call: Required
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120 – $2,230

• Experience: Minimum 2 years PACU or critical care experience preferred; pediatric PACU experience strongly preferred (Phase I PACU)
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted with submission; must be active before start)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required
• Charting: Cerner experience preferred

  Skills:
  
  Arterial line (A-line) management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, reversal agents, ventilated/intubated patient care, conscious sedation, nerve blocks, chest tube management, pain assessment & PCA pump management, emergency response/CPR
• Case Mix: Experience recovering Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgeries (all surgeries except cardiac)
• Trauma: Level II trauma experience preferred
• Other: Willingness to assist with Pre-Op coverage as needed; RTO required with submission; some holiday coverage expected; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)

• Provide safe, high-quality Phase I post-anesthesia care for patients of all ages (pediatric to geriatric) as a PACU nurse
• Perform rapid post-anesthesia assessments and continuous monitoring of airway, respiratory status, hemodynamics, pain, and complications
• Manage complex devices and interventions including A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, nerve blocks, and ventilated/intubated patients
• Administer and titrate medications per protocol, including analgesics, reversal agents, and emergency medications; recognize and treat dysrhythmias
• Respond to perioperative emergencies such as respiratory compromise and malignant hyperthermia
• Support Pre-Op Holding area as needed—pre-op assessments, patient preparation, and perioperative coordination
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Interpretation Services)
• Document accurately and efficiently in the EMR; adhere to infection prevention and PPE standards
