- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Start Date: March 23, 2026 (flexible Monday starts considered)
- End Date: July 13, 2026
- Contract Length: 16 weeks (minimum 13 weeks considered)
- Shift: Nights — 3x12‑hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Labor & Delivery — 10 beds, fluctuating census (~20 visits/day)
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 (days/nights/weekends)
- Float: Antepartum as needed
- Charting / EMR: Cerner preferred
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Pre‑Employment: On‑site drug screen required
- Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Local Candidates: Applicants within 50 miles are not accepted for this travel assignment
- Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (charge experience preferred)
- License: Active Texas RN license required (pending accepted at submission; must be active before start)

Skills:
High‑risk antepartum care, telemetry interpretation, insulin drips, hemorrhage/shock response, LDRP, triage, EFM (external/internal/IUPC), blood administration, IV management, infusion pumps/drips, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, Terbutaline - Procedural
Experience:
Assist with high‑risk/vaginal/C‑section deliveries (circulate/recover C‑section patients), sterile speculum and vaginal exams, support multiple births and operative deliveries - Newborn Care: APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, radiant warmer use, /security banding, breastfeeding/lactation support
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adults
- Other: RTO required with submission; expect to work some holidays
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor and delivery, rotating through triage, antepartum, labor, circulating, and transition (no postpartum)
- Perform obstetric triage assessments including NSTs and focused maternal‑fetal evaluations
- Initiate and manage electronic fetal monitoring (EFM); recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and implement interventions per protocol
- Assist with high‑risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C‑sections (circulate and recover C‑section patients)
- Support sterile procedures and accurate documentation for multiple births and operative deliveries
- Administer and titrate medications and infusions including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, Terbutaline, and insulin drips
- Start and maintain IVs, manage infusion pumps/drips, draw venous blood, and administer blood/blood products as needed
- Provide newborn support including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and secure
- Document thoroughly in Cerner EMR and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes
- Maintain infection prevention standards, isolation precautions, and PPE compliance
