Must-Have:
Previous charge experience required.
Charting system experience preferred. Cerner experience is a plus.
Description:
Responsible for providing nursing care in Labor and Delivery.
Will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition.
No postpartum care will be provided.
Will handle high-risk antepartum and postpartum situations.
Experience in telemetry interpretation and insulin drip management is needed.
Should be skilled in forceps and vacuum extraction, as well as managing hemorrhage and shock.
Essential tasks include conducting sterile vaginal exams and non-stress tests.
Required to triage obstetrical patients and use various fetal monitoring techniques.
Experience in administering blood products and drawing venous blood is essential.
Must be proficient in starting and maintaining IVs, using infusion pumps, and IV monitoring.
Familiarity with specific medications such as antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate therapy is required.
Skills in assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and recovery of C-sections are necessary.
Must conduct APGAR scoring and handle infant care including identification and thermoregulation.
Experience with epidural and general anesthesia, as well as pain assessment and management, is required.
Support for breastfeeding and lactation is expected.
Should be knowledgeable in postpartum care including fundus, lochia, and perineum care.
Experience in managing multiple births and complications such as postpartum hemorrhage is necessary.
Understanding of isolation precautions and vaccine administration is required.
Must be prepared to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment is preferred.
