Job Description
The RN, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures, and guidelines of the employing healthcare institution or practice setting. The RN functions under his or her own license and assumes accountability and responsibility for the quality of care provided to patients and their families according to nursing practice standards.
The RN demonstrates responsibility for continued competence through reflection, self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Full Time 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree (ADN) or diploma in nursing required; BSN preferred. The organization supports pursuing a BSN.
- At least six (6) months of nursing experience; less than six months may qualify for the Nurse Residency Program.
- Current Texas RN license required.
- Required
Certifications:
Current CPR (American Heart Association). - Preferred
Certifications:
Specialty certification within 2 years (e.g., Med Surg, Orthopedic). - Early acute stroke recognition and treatment experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift (up to 35 lbs.), see, speak, and hear. Use of assisted-lift devices or assistance is required for lifts over 35 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
