Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PACU
Job Details:
• 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac procedures
• Experience with pediatrics required and critical care strongly preferred
• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op as needed
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
• Call responsibilities required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
• Must work minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract
• Care for patients of all age groups from 8 months to 100+ years old
• Experience required with recovering patients from Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN procedures
• Must have experience monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines
• Unit has 21 beds with daily census of 30 patients
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Must orient to Pre-Op Holding as PACU and Pre-Op are connected units
• Expected to work some holidays
• On-site drug screening required
• Local candidates within 50 mile radius not accepted
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive Post Anesthesia Care Unit that provides recovery services for patients following various surgical procedures except cardiac surgeries. The facility maintains a 21-bed PACU with interdisciplinary support services including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The unit is connected to Pre-Op Holding and serves patients across all age groups with a focus on quality post-operative care and monitoring.
