Organization: Midland Rape Crisis & Children’s Advocacy Center (MRCCAC)
Service Area: All communities served by MRCCAC across the Permian Basin
Location: Midland, TX (in-office with regional outreach)
Reports to: Executive Director
Works closely with: Board of Directors, Board Events Committee Chair, Finance & Program Leadership
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 base, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonuses
About MRCCAC
Midland Rape Crisis & Children’s Advocacy Center (MRCCAC) provides free, confidential services to survivors of sexual assault and child abuse and their families across the Permian Basin.
MRCCAC exists to provide support, hope, and healing for individuals affected by trauma. Through advocacy, education, and community partnerships, the Center works to empower survivors and to help prevent abuse while ensuring compassionate care is always available when it is needed.
As the organization continues to grow, MRCCAC is strengthening its internal capacity and expanding its community engagement to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.
Position SummaryThe Director of Development & Community Partnerships is MRCCAC’s senior revenue and relationship leader. This role is responsible for building and stewarding donor relationships, growing unrestricted operating revenue, leading corporate and community engagement across MRCCAC’s service area, supporting funder relationships, and ensuring all supporters feel connected to MRCCAC’s mission.
This is a relationship-driven leadership role
, not an event-only or grant-administration position. The Director will be highly visible in the community, meeting with corporations, foundations, civic leaders, and individual donors to build long-term partnerships.
The Director supports (but does not lead) MRCCAC’s capital campaign when active.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommunity, Corporate & Donor Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with corporations, foundations, businesses, civic groups, and individual donors across MRCCAC’s service area.
- Conduct regular in-person meetings, tours, and presentations to tell MRCCAC’s story and invite financial support.
- Cultivate and solicit unrestricted operating donations.
- Represent MRCCAC as a trusted community partner.
Donor Stewardship & Relationship Management:
- Oversee all donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and personalized thank-you and impact communications.
- Maintain complete and accurate donor records, giving history, and relationship notes.
- Lead donor tours and relationship-building activities.
Grants & Institutional Giving (Relationship-Focused):
- Support grant-related relationship development and funder engagement.
- Make introductions between corporate and foundation partners and the grant team.
- Support grant proposals through donor relationships, introductions, and funder engagement when appropriate.
- Coordinate with finance and program teams to ensure funders receive timely and accurate information.
Events & Fundraising Initiatives:
- Serve as lead staff for all fundraising events, with Wine, Women & Shoes (WWS) being the largest currently.
- Work closely with the Board Events Committee Chair to:
- Evaluate fundraising performance.
- Develop and launch new fundraising initiatives.
- Explore direct-mail campaigns, additional events, sponsor ships, and other revenue streams.
- Manage sponsor ships, donor engagement, and post-event follow-up.
Capital Campaign (Support Role):
- Support donor stewardship, pledge tracking, and materials.
- Assist with donor communications and reporting.
- Participate in meetings with foundations and major funders alongside Board member(s) and/or Capital Campaign Committee member(s) to support capital campaign relationship-building and funder engagement.
Data, Reporting & Donor Systems:
- Maintain MRCCAC’s donor and relationship management system (donor database).
- Ensure all donor, funder, and grant information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Track donor engagement, retention, and revenue trends.
- Provide reports to leadership and the Board.
First-Year Success Looks Like:
- Increased unrestricted operating revenue.
- Strong corporate and community partnerships across MRCCAC’s service area.
- Improved donor retention and recognition.
- Expanded fundraising channels beyond WWS.
Required:
- Proven success building donor and corporate relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort asking for financial support.
- Event fundraising leadership.
- Experience managing donor and funder information systems.
Preferred:
- 5+ years of nonprofit development, fundraising, or business development experience.
- Experience working with Boards of Directors.
- Capital campaign support experience.
