Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading preventive and corrective maintenance, reliability initiatives, and compliance activities across heavy fabrication equipment, facilities, utilities, and material-handling assets. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime to support on-time production while maintaining strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
This position requires a hands‑on leader who anticipates issues before they disrupt operations, maintains disciplined documentation and systems, and remains effective when responding to urgent repairs, shifting schedules, and evolving production demands.
Quality, Safety & ComplianceFollow quality policies, procedures, and standards
Ensure equipment, facilities, and assets are maintained in compliance with applicable safety, welding, crane, transportation, and industry standards
Support compliance with state and highway regulations for company vehicles and equipment
Promote a strong safety culture by actively participating in hazard recognition, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and required training programs
General RequirementsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively
Team‑oriented mindset with initiative, accountability, and a hands‑on leadership approach
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a production‑driven environment
Willingness to work flexible hours, including extended hours or weekends, when critical repairs or operational needs arise
Leads by example and demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and dedication
Education & Technical SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, millwright, welding, electrical, or related field preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
Proven troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and CNC systems
Ability to complete required safety and equipment training programs
Physical &Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders or stairs, and work at heights as needed
Capable of lifting tools and equipment and working in a shop environment
Comfortable wearing required PPE, including steel‑toe boots, hard hat, eye and hearing protection, and flame‑resistant clothing
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
Lead maintenance activities with safety as the top priority
Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for fabrication equipment, cranes, compressors, vehicles, and facility systems
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, certifications, and work orders within the CMMS
Coordinate internal and third‑party maintenance services, inspections, and certifications
Order parts, manage inventory, review invoices, and support maintenance cost tracking
Respond to urgent repairs and breakdowns to minimize production downtime
Review and prioritize maintenance requests based on operational impact
Supervise, train, and develop maintenance team members
Support equipment upgrades, installations, and facility improvements
Track maintenance performance metrics and recommend reliability improvements
Provide hands‑on support during peak operational needs or emergencies
