Operations Manager
Position Summary
The Electrical Manager is responsible for supervision, mentorship, and technical expertise to drive the processes and priorities for the electrical, automation, and measurement teams. This individual will lead these teams to optimize operations in daily tasks and assigned projects while providing development opportunities and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety guidelines. Salary commensurate with experience. This position is based in Midland, Texas, and reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Job Duties
- Serves as liaison between Management and Field Operations.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of electricians, instrumentation/automation, and measurement technicians to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Designs, installs, commissions, operates and maintains electrical power distribution infrastructure.
- Leads troubleshooting electrical power distribution and automation issues in the field.
- Collaborates with the Asset Integrity & Reliability team to ensure measurement data quality in Maximo and coordinates training as appropriate for electricians, instrumentation/automation, and measurement technicians.
- Enhances visibility and communication with leadership and manages third-party vendors to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, cost-effectiveness and deliverables.
- Ensures the safety of personnel by monitoring and reporting safety hazards and concerns to immediate Supervisor and/or Safety Director.
- Leads efforts in the development of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Oversees and manages troubleshooting of operational problems for assigned region(s).
- Manages and maintains timecards of direct reports in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a qualified staff and manages employee productivity and scheduling.
- Ensures all work sites and employees maintain full compliance to Company and customer standards, policies, and procedures.
- Sets a standard as a leader in commitment to safety, following all company safety procedures and policies, including attending required safety meetings.
- Ensures ongoing employee training to develop employees for advancement.
- Adheres and leads by example on Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to KPA, JSAs, Training, Incident Reports, and Safety Observations.
- Participates in performance management, hiring, development and disciplinary processes.
- Verifies that timesheets are reviewed and approved on a timely manner and complies with regulations and policies on accurate time tracking.
- Abides by Company policy in keeping one's own time up to date, as well as adheres to set schedule as agreed upon on the date of hire, and adjusted work schedules thereafter.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years’ experience in the field with electrical power, instrumentation, autonomous management.
- Design, installation, operations and maintenance of electrical power distribution for medium and high voltage (480V – 22kV).
- Worked with SCADA systems such as Ignition, Wonderware, Simatic, iFix, or Intellution.
- Strong knowledge and experience with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL).
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD), MCC, switch gear, transformers, relays, grounding and bonding techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated and strong time‑management skills for multiple priorities.
- Experience managing projects and implementations.
- Knowledge in utilizing electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
- Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally across all levels of staff, customers, and vendors.
- Able to adapt in a fast‑paced environment where change is a constant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team.
- Must be computer literate and be proficient in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
