THIS IS A CONTINUING POSITION DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
NOTE:
This position is open to qualified school district employees from November 3 - 7, 2025. Applications received from outside the district will not be considered until November 8th. This is a full-time, swing shift position, from 2:20 to 11 pm. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. We are hiring up to 2 positions. This position is open until filled.
Accountability: Reports to Executive Director of Maintenance and Operation.
Position
Description:
Perform routine task assignments to maintain school district standards of cleanliness and upkeep of facilities.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and shower rooms and fixtures in both facilities in accordance with established practices and procedure.
- Run computer applications and programs (Word, Excel, Adobe, GMail, Google Drive, etc.).
- Dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill tissue and restroom dispensers.
- Set up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events.
- Wash windows, walls and equipment.
- Lock and unlock buildings; secure building when faculty are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and windows; report any unauthorized occupants.
- Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
- May move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools.
- May pick up and deliver school district mail for district office.
- May clean and paint surfaces.
- May manually or with self-propelled equipment remove snow or debris from sidewalks, stairs, driveways and entry ways.
- Rake leaves and sweep debris; remove debris from school grounds; remove snow and ice from outside entrances, sidewalks, driveways and access roads.
- Respond to damage caused by vandalism immediately.
- Organize and maintain storage areas, custodial closets and maintenance work stations.
- Clean and line garbage cans, clean classroom waste baskets.
- Remain at duty site the entire shift for emergency and security purposes.
- Respond to security system alarms.
- Event nights and athletic events - check doors to ensure facilities are read; periodic check of garbage and bathrooms. Empty all garbage at the end of the evening and clean stadium bleachers and gym bleachers.
- Perform related duties as required; additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Employees will be asked to wear a simple uniform and/or name tag while on duty, which will identify them as “Facilities Worker”. Appearance is required to be well kept and clean.
- Good public relations are a MUST! Common courtesy, diplomacy and common sense are expected.
- Custodial staff may, if necessary, ask students to leave the building if they are causing problems. Report all such problems to the supervisor and principal.
- In all cases dealing with students, custodial staffs are expected to use mature judgment.
- People should not be allowed in the building unsupervised.
- A teacher’s request for a custodial worker to do specific work should be referred to the supervisor, unless no serious interruption of work schedule will occur.
- Physical ability to lift 75 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. often.
- Experience in custodial duties/general maintenance.
- High school Diploma or equivalent.

- Contract:
260 Days, 8 hours a day, 2:20 pm to 11 pm. - Benefits:

Up to 12 paid holidays each year. - Retirement:

105 Workers Co-Op and to be performed at KVH Workplace Health in Ellensburg. - Max hourly wage is with 25 years of school district experience.
