Overview
Job Description Under the direction of the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Coordinator assists in administering and communicating Midland Health benefits programs. The Benefits Coordinator will provide support to the Benefits Team. The position will have a high degree of interaction with employees and managers, requiring excellent customer service skills and patience. The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for meeting with employees to discuss their benefit options, keeping detailed records of employee insurance information and overseeing the enrollment process.
Responsible for creating and maintaining employee benefit files. Supports employees and plan members with questions and issues.

Responsible for creating and maintaining employee benefit files. Supports employees and plan members with questions and issues.
Full Time:
Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Process accurate and complete benefit documentation, such as collecting supporting documents for life events and newly eligible dependent verification.
- Maintain benefit files (digital and paper) by keeping them organized in the HR drive and within the HRIS.
- Distribute benefit communication materials by email for Newly Eligible, PPACA, Life Event enrollments.
- Respond promptly to walk-ins, phone, and email inquiries, including claims processing issues related to job applications/offer letters, and benefit coverages.
- Assist employees with creating their account with the Empower portal to allow them to enroll in their retirement plan.
- Help employees register and gain access to find providers, view their claims, how to print temp cards, etc. in the insurance provider portals.
- Process better
U forms and PTO donations for biweekly payroll. - Prepare and maintain biweekly payroll deduction reports to support and process benefit vendor invoices.
- Assist with the coordination to achieve project deadlines are complete and on time; assist with special projects such as Open Enrollment, the Years of Service banquet, and new benefit implementation projects.
- Utilizing the Benefit Status report: follow up where employee created a life event but have not completed the enrollment; employees who have changed status from PT/PRN to FT but have not completed the enrollment; phone call and email follow up.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with benefits administration service providers, all plan administrators, and attend related meetings.
- Participate with HR inner departmental needs as needed, such as assisting in recruiting events, front desk coverage, etc.
- Responsible for Dayforce notifications; will assist with Terminate an Employee and Job Assignment and Compensation Changes
- Provide administrative support as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or human resource-related field preferred.
- Demonstrated positive customer relations skills required.
- 2 or more years of human resource experience.
- Intermediate Excel skills and abilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- High degree of accuracy and ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
