Responsibilities- MI Lic Athletic Trainer

Experience:

Experience:
Graduated from an athletic training curriculum approved by the National Athletic Trainers Association
- Documents the patient/family/caregiver response to treatment and changes in patient condition per affiliate documentation policies and/or standards and in compliance with regulatory agencies
- Educates patient/family/caregiver in home education program using relevant and effective teaching methods
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication with all internal and external customers to maximize quality of patient care including coordination with interdisciplinary team members
- Promotes education and development among staff, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods
- Promotes process improvement
- Assists with program development
- Provides feedback in team conferences and interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate
- Demonstrates commitment to My Michigan Health and affiliate mission as evidenced by customer service, quality of service, and teamwork
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and affiliate information in accordance with My Michigan Health and affiliate policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

- Interpersonal skills needed for effective verbal and written communication in the English language to interact with people individually and in a group at all levels and to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating problem solving and organizational skills, time management skills and initiative
- Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration is required and must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan
- Ability to work where employee may be exposed to communicable diseases
- Ability to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodation
- Ability to demonstrate and teach selected treatment routines to appropriate professional and non-professional individuals
- Prefer one to three years of experience working in a sports medicine clinic or university setting
- Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death
- Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position
- Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description
- Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device
- Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching
- Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow My Michigan Health blood borne pathogen and TB testing as required
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake
- Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis
- Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs, frequently lift up to 20 lbs, and perform walking/standing/pushing/pulling as part of the job
