Special Procedure Technologist

Job Description

The RT(R) is responsible for delivering patient care in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and the policies of the employing health care institution. The RT(R) operates independently under license, ensuring quality of care and continual professional competence.

PRN; shift varies.

• Practice technology based on theoretical knowledge, using equipment and accessories appropriate to their purpose.
• Assess situations, exercise discretion and judgment, and act in the patient's best interest.
• Act as an agent by observing and communicating to obtain pertinent information for physicians, while recognizing diagnosis lies outside scope.
• Use equipment and accessories, employ techniques, and perform services in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
• Demonstrate expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to patient, self, and other team members.

• ARRT registered or eligible.
• General Texas Medical Board license.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a diagnostic technologist.
• Must obtain CV or VI registry within 2‑3 years of employment in Interventional Radiology.
• Annual stroke education 2 hours.

• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear.
• Lift up to 35 lbs. for clinical staff; 50 lbs. for non‑clinical staff.
• Use assisted‑lift device or assistance for lifts exceeding limits.
