LocationMidland, Texas – Field operations in the Permian Basin
Schedule5/2 schedule (40 hours/week). On-call rotation required. Potential overtime.
Additional InfoNo per diem. Agency truck (½ ton) provided.
Position SummaryThe Emissions Technician supports field operations by monitoring, measuring, documenting, and mitigating air emissions across production facilities. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and company environmental standards while supporting safe and efficient hydrocarbon production. This is a field-based role requiring daily travel to tank batteries, compressor stations, and processing facilities.
Primary Responsibilities- Conduct routine emissions monitoring at tank batteries and compression facilities.
- Perform LDAR repairs following all regulatory requirements, addressing leaks identified using approved OGI cameras and gas detection instruments.
- Inspect and monitor thief hatches, pressure relief valves, pneumatic controllers, vapor recovery units (VRUs), flares, and combustors.
- Quantify emissions using portable analyzers and approved methodologies.
- Document inspection findings in company data management systems.
- Initiate work orders for equipment requiring repair and verify corrective actions.
- Support regulatory reporting and maintain required environmental records.
- Assist operations teams in identifying emission reduction opportunities.
- Maintain calibration and functionality of monitoring equipment.
- Ensure compliance with United States Environmental Protection Agency Subpart OOOOa / OOOOb / OOOOc regulations (as applicable).
- Ensure compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation.
- Participate in internal and external environmental audits.
- Prior oil & gas field experience.
- Familiarity with EPA Subpart OOOO regulations.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of production equipment.
- Experience with gas detection equipment calibration.
- Frequent walking across uneven terrain.
- Climbing ladders and tank stairs.
- Working in hot, cold, and windy field conditions.
- Lifting equipment up to 40–50 lbs.
- Driving company vehicles on lease roads daily.
