Junior Process Engineer

Intelligenciia is the retained and exclusive recruitment partner for a scaling lithium production company commercialising Direct Lithium Extraction technology in the United States.

This role sits within plant operations and forms part of the first engineering cohort responsible for commissioning and operating a 5,000 barrel per day Direct Lithium Extraction unit.

Following an initial commissioning and structured training phase, this same team will transition to operating a 100,000 to 200,000 barrel per day commercial facility.

The position is plant based and includes control room responsibility. You will gain exposure to the full process from oilfield brine through to battery grade lithium carbonate production.

The role reports into the Senior Hydrometallurgical Engineer and works closely with plant operators and commissioning partners.

Following commissioning, the facility will operate continuously and roster patterns will adjust accordingly.

• Support commissioning and startup of Direct Lithium Extraction and refining systems
• Operate and oversee plant systems within a control room environment
• Monitor plant performance across recovery, uptime, throughput, and process stability
• Track daily production metrics and identify process deviations
• Interpret process flow diagrams and instrumentation drawings
• Investigate root causes of mechanical and process upsets
• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures
• Support training of future engineer cohorts as facilities scale
• Support scale-up as additional facilities are commissioned

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• Internship or exposure to industrial processing environments preferred
• Ability to interpret process flow and instrumentation diagrams
