A growing energy infrastructure organization is seeking a Reliability Asset Engineer to support pipeline and water handling operations across multiple field locations. This role plays a critical part in risk evaluation, asset integrity, and operational reliability across midstream facilities. This position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Asset Integrity teams to improve infrastructure performance, mitigate risk, and enhance inspection and maintenance strategies.
The Reliability Asset Engineer will lead integrity risk assessments and inspection planning for pipeline and surface facility assets. This role requires strong technical knowledge of degradation mechanisms, risk-based inspection programs, and maintenance systems within oil & gas or related industrial environments. This is a highly collaborative role with significant field exposure and cross-functional engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Perform integrity risk assessments and threat evaluations for pipeline and facility assets
- Identify high-consequence areas and develop mitigation strategies
- Evaluate corrosion mechanisms, remaining strength, and fitness-for-service analyses
- Design and oversee inspection programs in partnership with internal teams and third-party NDT providers
- Review inspection data, corrosion control records, and operating conditions to guide asset decisions
- Support and optimize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses
- Analyze hydraulic models to identify operational constraints and improvement opportunities
- Assist in facility reconfigurations, upgrades, and new infrastructure projects
- Develop scopes of work, engineering specifications, and cost estimates
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost control and asset performance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years of oil & gas or industrial infrastructure experience
- Background in at least two of the following:
- Corrosion Engineering
- Pipeline Integrity Programs
- Experience with CMMS platforms (Maximo or comparable systems preferred)
- Strong understanding of degradation mechanisms and risk-based inspection methodologies
- Familiarity with API, ASME, and NACE standards
- Ability to travel 50%+ to field locations
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- API 510, API 570, NACE or similar certifications
- Experience supporting pipeline and surface facility optimization projects
- Root Cause Analysis / Incident Investigation training
