Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer (Assembly, Integration, and Test) to join a Government Consulting company located in Midland, TX through % onsite work
. The Mechanisms Engineer (AIT) will support the design, assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft mechanisms, contributing to the rapid production and deployment of a next-generation satellite constellation.
- Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanisms, including thousands of moving parts per satellite
- Develop and operate ground support equipment for vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum testing
- Analyze test data, determine pass/fail criteria, and support spacecraft integration and launch operations
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure mechanism performance from design through mission deployment
- Troubleshoot anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and contribute to design improvements
- 4+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or related engineering fields
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly, testing, and integration of space hardware
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Solid Works, Creo) and test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, thermal chambers)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility for occasional weekend and early morning work (e.g., 4 AM deployments)
The initial – hour workweeks, including some weekends, are due to an accelerated satellite production ramp-up, but will ease to
-hour weeks as operations stabilize, with built-in flexibility and protected Sundays to support team sustainability - Must be able to provide 2 letters of recommendations from former managers/ employers
