Lead Controls Engineer

Established engineering firm delivering midstream facilities across Texas and New Mexico is looking for a Lead Controls Engineer to take ownership of automation scope across gas plants, compressor stations, and treating facilities.

This is a project ownership role, not a maintenance position.

You will be the controls authority on assigned projects, working from early design through startup, interfacing directly with clients and coordinating across disciplines to deliver facilities that actually start up cleanly.

• Own controls and automation scope from FEED through commissioning
• Develop and review control narratives, P&IDs, IO lists and cause and effect
• Lead PLC and HMI design packages
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and civil teams
• Interface directly with clients and vendors
• Support field commissioning and startup

• Midstream, gas processing, compression or similar oil and gas facility experience
• Strong PLC background, Siemens or Allen Bradley
• Confident reading schematics and P&IDs
• Experience taking projects through startup
• Comfortable leading technical conversations with clients
• Experience creating data sheets

• 4 day work week
• Real ownership, not buried in a corporate structure
• Projects ranging from brownfield upgrades to large greenfield gas plants
• Long term, repeat client base
