Job Summary

Mewbourne Oil Company is seeking a Land Technician to join our Exploration group in the Permian Basin. This role provides critical support to the land, geology, and engineering teams, assisting with existing operations and new business initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Utilize Enertia Land PC Software (experience preferred).
  • Review and interpret various land documents including leases, assignments, title opinions, and ownership reports.
  • Record leases via mail and Simplifile system.
  • Draft and mail well proposals, track elections, prepare regulatory respondent lists, and verify addresses.
  • Summarize oil and gas lease provisions and assist with compliance.
  • Provide project support to Land professionals and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Assist with land-related tasks; prior experience preferred but not required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with multiple members of the Exploration group.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Self‑motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in PC-based software (Geographix, Excel, IHS, Enverus, etc.).
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt to changing priorities.
