We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer to support engineering teams by producing, revising, and maintaining high-quality technical drawings. This role is responsible for translating engineering inputs into accurate 2D drawings while ensuring compliance with company standards, project specifications, and industry practices. The position works in a fast-paced, multi-discipline environment and plays a key role in drawing coordination and document control.
Key Responsibilities
- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure compliance with established specifications, standards, and project requirements
- Develop computer-generated drawings including layouts, isometrics, details, plans, schedules, and data sheets
- Prepare dimensional drawings (layouts) and non-dimensional drawings such as one-line diagrams
- Revise and update drawings based on engineer markups, redlines, and project instructions
- Coordinate with engineers and designers across multiple disciplines to resolve drawing-related issues
- Support interface management between company and contractor engineering teams
- Provide document control support, including drawing database updates, revision tracking, and version control
- Assist with progress tracking and reporting of discipline drawing deliverables
- Communicate engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns to the Supervisor
- Support internal engineering initiatives or global practice programs as requested
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar CAD Designer, Drafter, or Engineering Design support role
- Associate degree in Drafting or equivalent technical education from a two-year college or technical school (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience with 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, or Smart Sketch
- Experience producing engineering drawings in industrial, plant, energy, or EPC project environments preferred
- Familiarity with drawing standards, revision control, and engineering documentation processes
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, for technical and business communication
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multi-discipline drawing coordination (piping, electrical, civil, instrumentation, etc.)
- Knowledge of document management systems or drawing registers
- Understanding of industrial design practices and engineering workflows
