Petroleum Analyst

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year + 20% bonus

Location: Midland, TX

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description: As a Petroleum Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing data related to petroleum production, reserves, and exploration activities. You will play a crucial role in providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze data on petroleum production, reserves, and exploration activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and financial models to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments including accounting, engineering, finance, business development (BD), and land.
  • Assist in evaluating potential investments, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the oil and gas industry.
  • Provide support for senior-level M&A, divestiture, land management, and commercial business development projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, geology, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in petroleum analysis or a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of petroleum production processes, reserves estimation techniques, and exploration methodologies.
  • Experience with financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
