About the jobJob Summary
The Safety Coordinator supports the implementation, maintenance and the continuous improvement of the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. This is a hands-on role which focuses on day-to-day safety activities, compliance support, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization, with training and mentorship provided.
Health, Safety & Environmental:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of health and safety policies in compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Assists in with site preparedness and emergency response plans, including alert systems
- Assists with workplace safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
- Assists in ISO preparedness and customer compliance audits.
- Participate in incident and near-miss investigations, including documentation and follow-up actions.
- Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness through communication, engagement, and on-the-floor presence.
- Support sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency efforts.
- Assists with safety training coordination, recordkeeping, and employee onboarding related to HSE.
- Assist with training deliverables as well as participate in toolbox talks
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and corrective actions and track to closure.
- Assist in preparing basic safety metrics and reports for management review.
- Assists with internal and if necessary external audits
- Support compliance with applicable HSE regulations and internal standards.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to improve safety practices and workplace conditions.
- Collaborate with supervisors, employees, and leadership to reinforce a proactive safety culture.
- Stay informed on basic HSE best practices and regulatory updates (training provided as needed).
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, or a related field preferred.
- Entry-level experience or co-op/internship experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.
- Mechanical / Electrical expertise would benefit the candidate with knowledge of machinery
- Production processing knowledge would be useful, this includes raw materials, manufacturing and warehousing activities.
- Willingness to complete HSE-related training and certifications as required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and observational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and approachable mindset.

Salary
The salary for this position ranges from CAD $50,000 - $60,000 per year,aligned with experience and qualifications.
