Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to join our Summer Credit Recovery Program. The Summer Credit Recovery Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction to high school students who need to recover credits in specific subjects to meet graduation requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching secondary education, a strong understanding of the curriculum, and a passion for helping students succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct instruction and facilitate online programming to high school students working to recover academic credits.
- Provide individualized support to students, adapting teaching strategies to meet varying learning needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and making adjustments to instruction as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance throughout the program.
- Communicate with students and parents/guardians about student progress, addressing concerns or challenges as needed.
- Collaborate with other summer program teachers and administrators to ensure consistency and alignment of instructional strategies.
- Assist students with assignments, quizzes, and exams that are necessary for credit recovery.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged to succeed.
- Ensure that students meet the required learning objectives and successfully complete the credit recovery process.
- Follow all health, safety, and school regulations during class activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
- Valid teaching certification in the relevant subject area (secondary education).
- Prior experience in teaching high school students, preferably with a focus on credit recovery or remedial education.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies for high school students.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with educational technology and online learning platforms (if applicable).
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate students.
- Must pass background checks as required by local regulations.
- Ability to sit, stand, or move around for extended periods during instructional time.
- Ability to lift and carry educational materials (up to 15-20 pounds).
