Secondary Teacher and Football Coach
Job Summary :
As a Secondary Teacher and Football Coach at Midland Christian School you will have the unique opportunity to not only inspire students academically but also guide them athletically and spiritually. In this dual role, you will be responsible for providing quality instruction in the classroom while also leading and mentoring student-athletes on the field or court. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for both teaching and coaching, a commitment to the Christian faith, and a dedication to fostering holistic development in students.

- Past experience as a teacher.
- Experience coaching at the secondary level, preferably in a school setting.

Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the school's standards and faith-based principles.
- Plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Incorporate Bible stories, faith-based values, and character education into daily lessons.
- Establish and maintain a positive and supportive classroom conducive to learning and spiritual growth.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies rooted in faith-based principles.
- Foster a sense of community and belonging among students through collaborative activities and teamwork.
- Deliver instruction using a variety of instructional strategies and resources.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic and spiritual growth.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Lead and mentor student-athletes in your designated sport, providing instruction, guidance, and support in both skill development and character formation.
- Plan and Conduct regular practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Represent the school with integrity and sportsmanship at games, competitions, and events.
- Lead daily prayer/devotional time, integrating biblical teachings into classroom discussions.
- Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
