Tutors help with any stage of the writing process on writing assignments for any college course. Examples of content tutors assist with include brainstorming, organization, vocabulary, audience awareness/tone, formatting, paragraph development, MLA / APA formatting, logistics of researching, and editing. This list is not exhaustive.
Required Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent
- 12 hours of college credit completed with a 3.0 or higher overall G.P.A
- Must have completed English 1301 or English 1302 with an “A"
- Knowledge of computers/Canvas
- Understanding of Word formatting and MLA format
- Ability to interact with students on an individual basis or in a group
- Ability to speak and write clearly in English

Essential Functions- Actively engage with students in the tutoring process
- Help students learn to recognize their own errors and make improvements
- Interact with students on an individual basis or in a group
- Abide by the Midland College policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to move around the room to assist students

Min Salary$9.50 per hour
Max Salary$15.75 per hour
