Job Summary

Job duties include working with the directors and coordinators to enroll students in the Adult Basic Education and Literacy Programs at Midland College. Aides will also assist personnel with record keeping and basic administrative support.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree
Essential Functions
  • Greet students and provide excellent customer service
  • Assist director and coordinators with student orientation, registration, and placement testing
  • Assist with maintenance of student and program records
  • Assist with answering phones and communicating information about Adult Basic Education and Literacy Programs
  • Support student enrollment process for all incoming Adult Basic Education and Literacy students to include reviewing paperwork with students, administration of placement testing, and maintaining student files
  • Send current and future students information on registrations and orientations
  • Provide service to students and community members who walk into the Adult Basic Education and Literacy Department area
  • Track student program hours and assist with progress testing students
  • Collect student attendance data and enrollment information and provide these records to the TEAMS Data Entry Clerk regularly
  • Attend required staff development and meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands

Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds; must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time; use of manual dexterity; repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation; frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information; office setting; duties indoors and some outdoors.

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Compensation

Min Salary: $14.50 per hour | Max Salary: $14.50 per hour
