Job Description
Diamond R-IV Schools is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Agriculture Teacher to join our faculty. This role involves instructing students in agricultural sciences, FFA (Future Farmers of America) leadership, and hands‑on agricultural practices. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore careers in agriculture while developing practical skills in animal science, plant science, ag mechanics, and agribusiness.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national agriculture education standards.
- Teach courses such as Ag Science, Equine Science, Ag Construction, and Middle School Agriculture classes for 7th and 8th grade.
- Supervise and guide students in hands‑on agricultural activities, including school farm projects, greenhouse operations, and community initiatives.
- Advise and mentor the school’s FFA chapter, FFA Booster club, coordinating student participation in competitions, leadership events, and community service.
- Maintain school agricultural facilities, including shop and greenhouses.
- Foster relationships with local agricultural organizations, businesses, and community stakeholders.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing support and encouragement for career readiness.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Agriculture (or ability to obtain certification).
- Experience with FFA and SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) programs preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for agriculture and student development.
- Experience in agricultural mechanics, livestock care, or horticulture.
- Previous teaching experience at the secondary level.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or willingness to obtain for transporting students.
Diamond is a 4-day school week with Mondays off. Candidate selected would begin contract July 1. FFA Stipend is provided in addition to teaching salary.
