Job Summary

The High School Computer Applications Teacher at Midland Christian School will provide instruction in computer applications, technology skills, and digital literacy to students in grades 9–12. This role focuses on preparing students for college, careers, and life through practical technology skills, problem‑solving, and responsible digital citizenship within a Christ‑centered learning environment.

Essential Functions

Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.

Curriculum Development
  • Develop and implement computer applications curriculum aligned with the school’s faith‑based mission and academic objectives
  • Plan engaging, age‑appropriate lessons that prepare students for college and career readiness
  • Integrate Biblical principles, ethical technology use, and character education into instruction
Classroom Management
  • Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage responsible technology use and digital citizenship.
  • Foster collaboration, teamwork, and respect among students
Instruction and Assessment
  • Instruct students in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, internet research, and digital communication
  • Teach keyboarding proficiency, digital safety, and responsible use of technology
  • Introduce foundational concepts in coding, data management, and emerging technologies as appropriate
  • Provide constructive feedback and assess student progress
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Spiritual Development
  • Model Christ‑like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith.
Parent Communication and Collaboration
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to support student learning and spiritual development
