QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred
- Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
- Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
- End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
- Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
- Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
- Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
- Preparing tray set‑ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
- Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each treatment
- Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
- Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well‑being during the entire visit
- Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
- Taking diagnostic quality X‑Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
- Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
- Completing daily assignments
- Monitoring and recording patient vital signs
- Suctioning, cutting sutures, and holding retractors
- Mixing amalgam, cement, and pulp paste and preparing impression materials
- Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
- Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
- Placing and cementing bands
- Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
- Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
- Maintaining crash cart equipment and supplies
- Working with oral and IV sedated patients in office and hospital settings
- Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
- Ensuring the patient and parent comprehends the post‑op instructions
- Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
